The New Year is Clearpath’s time to emphasize safety training. The team at ClearPath Connections came together for a day of training in February. Topics of discussion ranged from live shooter scenarios to lift truck safety, with a consistent focus on working smart and speaking up when the potential exists for dangerous outcomes. Our on-site team is educated and empowered to put safety first.
Are you familiar with the GHS Pictograms, which are THE universal approach to classifying and communicating chemical hazards?
Lockout/Tagout is another critical policy for ClearPath. Our clients can rest assured that our team is trained to identify items that could crush or injure and energy sources that could cause an unexpected start-up.
Working in healthcare facilities mean constant attention to the dangers of bloodborne pathogens, and ClearPath is ahead of the curve in keeping employees knowledgeable in this area.
ClearPath doesn’t stop at considering the dangers for our own employees! As specialists in senior living environments, our techs take extra care with “situational awareness” on the job site. What hazards could a technician pose to an environment? How can a technician help keep residents…and their visitors safer? Take working in a memory care unit, for example:
- ladder location and setup should not block pathways
- tools must be secured and not within reach of residents
- secure your work area
“Safety is an important responsibility…remember, when we are on the job, we are in their home. Treat each resident with respect, as you would your own grandparent. Be constantly aware.”
– Nick Oliver, Lead Technician
